Do you know that I have accessibility challenges? I have mobility challenges which means that I can’t quite do all the things I want to do in the way that everyone else does them. And I’m not the only one! There are many people who, through their own physical limitations and challenges, feel unable to travel. And that breaks my heart.

Just because someone has mobility challenges and physical limitations does NOT mean that they can no longer travel! There just needs to be some more research and more things taken into consideration.

What is Accessible Travel?

Accessible travel is tourism and travel that allows all people, regardless of disability, to have equal access to travel. Accessible travel is the heart of my own business. I fully believe that all people should be able to travel in whatever ways are needed for them and their abilities. Travel being accessible means that people with disabilities are able to access transportation, accommodations, attractions/activities, and services in their travels.

Why Accessible Travel Matters?

First and foremost, accessible travel matters because it includes ALL people, not just the able-bodied. Everyone deserves the opportunity to travel. Accessible travel is what makes that possible. Those with disabilities and physical or mental challenges should not be forced to stay home simply because others don’t want to see or worry about them. All people deserve to be able to travel within their means and budgets.

Accessible travel also matters because it is an untapped (or under-tapped) market for the travel industry. When the travel industry is able to provide accessible transportation, accommodations, attractions/activities, and services, they open themselves to a whole new section of the travel market. This benefits everyone as well since not all disabilities are visible and those with invisible disabilities are able to benefit from many things encompassed in accessible travel.

I love to travel and accessible travel means that I can continue to do so. I am committed to helping plan and book travel that is accessible no matter what accessibility looks like for each individual.
